        Our Tunable Fiber Bragg Gratings (TFBGs) are built on our patented axial compression tuning technology*, offering a large wavelength tuning range and a reliable tuning process. TFBGs provide a versatile "all-fiber" tunable filter platform for wide-ranging applications, such as tunable lasers, nonlinear optics, quantum optics, fiber optic sensors, and optical fiber telecommunications. TFBGs are fully compatible with optical fibers, boasting low-insertion loss and high-power handling capability.

Notes:

A tunable FBG can be combined with a circulator for various applications, including blocking specific laser lines and transmitting other light signals. It can also be used as a tunable add-drop filter in optical communication systems.

If you wish to order a tunable FBG with a built-in circulator, please take note of the following:

(1)  Circulators or isolators have an operational wavelength window, and the isolation of these devices is wavelength-dependent. An ordinary circulator typically has limited power handling capability, usually ranging from 300mW to 500mW, depending on the wavelength.

(2)  For high-power applications, it is essential to choose a high-power circulator. Additionally, please be aware that fiber connectors have limited power handling capability (typically less than 1W), and for high-power situations, fusion-spliced fiber connections are recommended.

Tunable fiber lasers are built upon our innovative tunable fiber grating technology. These lasers are configured by directly tuning the FBG. They exhibit a high laser spectrum to Amplified Spontaneous Emission (ASE) suppression ratio, with an optical Signal-to-Noise (S/N) ratio of approximately 75dB. The laser cavity is designed with "all-fiber" connections, making the system simple, compact, robust, and highly resistant to vibrations. Moreover, the lasers feature additional output/input terminals*, which can serve as tunable FBG devices and fiber ASE sources, enhancing their versatility for various applications.

 

Similarly, fiber-pigtailed semiconductor lasers can be configured using tunable FBGs for external cavity wavelength tuning, offering flexibility and adaptability to meet your specific needs.

 

*The availability of output/input terminals depends on customer order options.

Terminal Ports:

Port 1: The output terminal for the tunable fiber laser.

Port 2: Connected to a spectral analyzer for monitoring the output wavelength.

             This terminal can also be utilized as an input for a tunable FBG,

Port 3: Functions as the ASE output terminal, where the laser outputs the ASE spectrum.

        We produce high-strength Fiber Gratings using state-of-the-art facilities in collaboration with our partner institutions. For ordering our products, kindly furnish us with your specific requirements
